Rama And The Dragon

Rama and the Dragon, a novel about the struggle between polarities, is a love story of unrequited passion between Rama, the symbol of multiplicity and creativity, and Mikhail, the symbol of unity and constancy. Their story symbolizes the relationship between man and woman, Copt and Muslim, and Upper and Lower Egypt.

Edwar al-Kharrat is an Egyptian writer, novelist and critic. He was born, raised and educated in Alexandria. His first book of short stories, High Walls, was published in 1959. Since then he has been the winner of numerous international awards, including the Cavafi Prize.
